A women rights champion, Mrs Kimani is known for fighting for the rights of women in political parties. For example, as the District KANU Secretary, she lobbied for positions of women in her party.  She prides herself of influencing the appointment of the first Women Assistant Chiefs in Embu, who have been promoted to positions of chiefs as well as other women elected in Local and County Governments in Kenya. She is also a former Chairperson Maendeleo Ya Wanawake Organization (17years) where she initiated several development projects such as Women’s Credit Scheme that facilitated women to borrow money and started own  thriving businesses.
